Miloc respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have when using the app.
Miloc is a location-based app that lets you share your real-time location with the family and friends you add, and save personal memories tied to places. Location sharing is always opt-in and can be turned off at any time.
By using Miloc, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Data We Collect
Location Data
We collect your location data only when you actively use the app and grant location permission.
This data is used to:
- share your real-time location with the friends you have added and agreed to share with
- show you the location of friends who have chosen to share with you
- create a memory tied to your current location
- support core location-based app features
Real-time location sharing is opt-in. Your location is shared only after you add a friend and choose to share, and you can pause or stop sharing, or remove a friend, at any time.
Memory Content
When you create a memory, we may collect and store the text you write, the photo you upload if any, the time and date associated with the memory, and the location linked to that memory.
Profile Information
We may collect basic profile information you choose to set in the app, such as your avatar and nickname, so friends you add can recognize you.
Email Address (optional)
You may optionally provide an email address in the app. If you do, we store it on our servers so we can send you product-related notices about Miloc (for example, account or feature updates) and so we can help you restore your account and Premium entitlements if you reinstall the app or switch devices.
Providing an email is not required to use Miloc’s core features, including location sharing and memories. We do not send third-party marketing or advertising, and we do not sell or rent your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. You can change or remove your email in the app, delete your account, or contact us at miloc_ios@126.com to request deletion.
Device Information
We may collect limited device-related information necessary to operate and improve the app, such as device model, operating system version, app version, and basic diagnostic data.
Friends Data
When you add a friend, we collect the invite code used and your friend connections, so that location sharing can work between you and the friends you add.
Subscription & Purchase Data
If you purchase a Miloc Premium subscription or a one-time purchase, we collect information about the transaction, such as the product purchased and your subscription status. Payment is processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Usage Data
We may collect information about how you use Miloc, such as app interactions, feature usage, crash logs, and performance data. This helps us improve app stability and user experience.
How We Use Your Data
- To enable real-time location sharing between you and your friends
- To create and display location-based memories
- To manage your friends and invitations
- To provide and manage subscriptions and purchases
- To save and organize your content
- To send product-related notices and help restore your account if you provide an email address
- To improve app performance, reliability, and usability

Location Permission
Miloc uses location permission to share your real-time location with the friends you have chosen to share with, and to tag the memories you create.
If you do not grant location access:
- you can still use other parts of the app
- real-time location sharing will not be available
- you will not be able to create a location-tagged memory
You control location sharing at all times. You can pause or stop sharing, remove a friend, or withdraw location permission in your device settings whenever you want.
How We Share Your Data
When you share your real-time location, it is shared with the members of the friends you have chosen to share with. This happens only after you add a friend and opt in to sharing.
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data only in the following situations:
- with friends you have added, as part of the location sharing feature you have opted into
- with service providers who help us operate the app, such as hosting, storage, analytics, or crash reporting providers
- when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- to protect the rights, safety, and security of Miloc, our users, or others
Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the app and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Real-time location data is used to power live sharing and is retained only for a limited period needed to provide the feature; older location data is deleted automatically. When you remove a friend or stop sharing, you stop sharing your location with its members. You can also request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
If you provide an email address, we keep it while your account is active. Unsubscribing stops further emails. Removing your email, deleting your account, or contacting us removes the email from our active systems, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
Your Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your data, and withdraw permissions such as location access through your device settings.
You can pause or stop location sharing, remove a friend, or disable location access at any time. Please note that disabling location access will turn off real-time sharing and prevent you from creating location-tagged memories.
You can provide, change, or remove your optional email address in the app. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in every message, or contact us to request deletion of your email and other personal data.
Children’s Privacy
Miloc is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction without parental or guardian consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
Miloc may rely on third-party services such as cloud storage providers, analytics tools, or crash reporting tools. These services may process data as necessary to provide their functionality.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Miloc after an update means you accept the revised policy.
